We want you to have senior pictures that you are proud to share!
Hey Senior!
CREATIVE. AUTHENTIC. ICONIC. ORGANIC. PORTRAITS.
Having fun is the name of the game
Have you looked at your parents' yearbook photos? Do they make you laugh, scream & point? Senior Pictures are different these days. And I am a different kind of photographer. I want to tell a story about who you are, with a collection of story-telling pictures taken in a place you love. This means that your face will not be in every picture. Maybe it's an FFA belt around your waist, or your beautiful nails on your dog's head...
Know this: your pictures do not have to be like anybody else's...
WHAT TO WEAR:
More than anything, dress for yourself not for me. I don't put any restrictions on how you dress. I am not your pastor or your principal.
Ask me about how many outfit changes you can have in your time slot. Remember that if you are going to change outfits, you will do it in public and we will carry your second outfit with us the entire way. There is no nipping back to the car for things you forgot.
Male: Think smart casual. Ask your parents and consider who your pictures are for. Does your grandma want a picture of you on her wall wearing a Primus T-shirt? Maybe wear a button down on top of a t-shirt you love... This way, you can get a nice picture for your family, as well as a few pictures where you are just you, and you feel more comfortable. Wear a colour that brings out the colour of your eyes. Try to avoid the colour red, and avoid writing on the clothes if possible.
Female: Be aware of planning your outfit(s) so that you can change easily. Consider one outfit with a dress or skirt and one with a pair of jeans. Again, please yourself (and your parents), not me. Wear your favourite clothes so that you feel like YOU. Ask me if you are at all unsure. You can send me cell phone pics of your outfits and I will be honest with you. Tell me if you like your hair a certain way (like bangs in the middle or to one side). Try to avoid the colour red unless you are a huge fan, and it seriously suits you.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION:
- Take a minute to dress your best. Clean, uncreased clothes? Isn't that a no-brainer? Clean hands (nails) and hair is a good one too. Do not arrive with wet hair. You just won't like those pictures, I know from experience.
- Brush your teeth before we take pictures. It makes a difference.
- Please empty your pockets so there are no weird bulges!
- Please don't bring your cell phone. PARENTS: if you want to join us, you are welcome. Just please do not stand behind me to take your own pictures. It will interrupt & break the spell. You CAN take 'behind the scene' pictures from the side. If you are crying, I will photograph you too! It happens...
- Arrive early, never late. Timings are planned carefully for the optimum lighting, plus you are disrespecting my time if you are late. And we do not want to rush. We want to take our time making awesome pictures for you and your family.

AFTER YOUR SESSION:
You can expect to view your pictures within a week of the session.
Each package includes several different print sizes. We are not like typical school pictures - you do not choose one image and receive that same image printed in various sizes. YOU CHOOSE which image is printed, in which size.
You receive a small digital copy of the pictures in your printed order, not the entire session. Each file is sized 5x7 at 300dpi. You do not receive any additional digital copies unless you purchase them additionally. One high resolution digital file costs $100, or purchase the entire session digitally for an additional $550 bigger packages or $300 Senior Treat Package.
*Helpful Ordering Info:
- When you are ready, just email sandprintsphotos@gmail.com with a written list of image number + print size. If you are ordering additional prints, we will invoice you accordingly. Include which image you choose for YB.
-Images that are further away from the body should be printed larger. Images that are closer to the body look good printed 5x7.
-8x10 prints require a 2-inch crop off the full frame image. I know this when shooting, so often leave a little gap expecting the image to get cropped. If the picture is already 'full' then it is better to either bump up a size or down - to 11x16 or 5x7.
- Your prints will be ready within three weeks of your order, possibly longer if we are closer to the school's yearbook deadline.
-All yearbook pictures are vertical and while it is your choice which image you choose, it is best if this image is head & torso. This will look best in the yearbook. We take care of emailing all the yearbook pictures to the MBHS yearbook staff. If you are from another school, that is your responsibility.
- We also offer graduation cards. Aim to have these taken care of by mid-April so you can check that one thing off the list. May is a whirlwind of other deadlines and distractions preparing for your big day and celebrations. Announce your Graduation in style!
- Do think about something big & special for your senior, not just an 8x10. Consider a cool metal print, or printed on bamboo or canvas. We are a fine art studio, so offer all sorts of beautiful products. Just ask!
